Collaboration divides the task & multiplies the success!
Welcome!
My name is Teresa Velez. I am an Education Specialist and Special Education Case Manager.
I've been supporting learners with disabilities in public schools about fourteen years. I have taught virtual, traditional and in hybrid classroom environments for the past seven years. I'm very pleased to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you.
I live in the Coachella Valley region of California, about ten miles from the heart of Palm Springs. It gets very hot out here. Make no mistake, this is the desert. In the summer, we’ve had record temperatures of up to 120 degrees, but I absolutely love living here.
In my spare time, I enjoy cycling up hills, stargazing at Joshua Tree National Park, riding motor scooters, watching independent films, eating good food, digital art, doodling, of course hanging with my partner and friends. Occasionally I go camping. It's nothing too extreme. I'd call it glamping. My version is more like a picnic outdoors that lasts a few days. We're never too far from a convenience store.
My goal is to make every school year both interesting and successful. My teaching philosophy is that a positive learning experience is built on collaborative effort. I'm always working to keep the lines of communication open. We learn together. This year, I volunteered to be a high school club advisor. It's been such a rewarding experience listening to the conversations of our youth. I know they want to bring positivity and change to the world. We all need to hear that.
Thanks so much for checking out my portfolio,
