• The Mild/Moderate credential authorizes the provision of services to individuals in grades K-12 to age 22, with mild/moderate disabilities such as autism, intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities, and other health-impaired and emotional disturbances.

• Plan, develop and implement IEPs collaboratively with an IEP Team as needed for students assessed and identified with a disability.

•  Provide specific academic instruction for students with services established and documented on a students' IEP, and develop appropriate social, emotional and education objectives for each student

• Case manage and update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect learner’s progress toward meeting IEP goals.

• Confer and collaborate with IEP Teams (parents, facilitators, administrators and Care Team) 

• Maintain regular communication with parents by providing support, coaching and understanding

• Participate in the Student Study Team (SST) process and recommend interventions for assigned grade level

• Case Management and instructional support for students with disabilities based on Individualized Education Program (IEP)

• Schedule and conduct IEP meetings with parents, administrators, psychologists, and other required staff

• Deliver and/or monitor instruction of students for the purpose of ensuring successful progress towards student's goals and objectives including the provision of a variety of virtual and in person service delivery models including push-in, pull - out, and co-teaching

• Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding the operational aspects of a special education program

• Develop, write and manage IEPs which include annual goals for students with special needs

• Complete academic assessments and write assessment reports, as needed, in preparation for IEPs or to assess ongoing progress

• Provide consultation on curriculum accommodations, which assists staff in accommodating the curriculum to meet the learning style and needs of the child with a disability

• Providing direct instruction/support to students whose needs were identified in an IEP developed by the IEP team

• Plan, lead, and participate in IEP meetings to review the student’s achievement and progress toward meeting annual goals and objectives

• Make clear that all club activities, events follow the school policies and procedures, as well as the student code of conduct. 

• Advisors are also expected to give guidance, be available and encouraging when needed.

• Host virtual meetings via Zoom and assist in scheduling future events for students to meet and discuss topics of interest
